Despite the ongoing investigation and public outcry about the ‘laglag bala’ incidents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), another overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was apprehended on Tuesday after a bullet was found in her bag.
Melody Valdez said she missed her flight to Qatar after airport security screeners found a bullet inside the pocket of her bag.
“Hindi ko po alam kasi wala po talaga akong dalang bala dahil alam ko naman na bawal po iyon eh… Talagang napapanood ko sa nangyayari sa NAIA kaya bakit naman ako magdadala ng bala eh alam ko naman na bawal po”, Valdez told DZMM.
The OFW added that she was able to wrap her bigger luggage with tape, but failed to do it on her smaller bag, where the .45-caliber bullet was found.
Valdez who is a single mother of four was supposed to leave the country for the third time.
She is now being assisted by the Public Attorney’s Office chair Persida Rueda-Acosta who has promised to help passengers in case they get victimized by the alleged scheme.
Meanwhile, the victim’s agency is also in contact with her employer to fix her problem.
