Thailand has donated 5,092,000 PHP (100,000 USD) to the Philippine government as part of kingdom’s humanitarian assistance for Marawi.
His Excellency Ambassador Thanatip Upasiting personally handed the check to Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary on Wednesday morning.
Cayetano thanked Thailand in a Facebook post. He added that the money will be transferred to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.
Thailand is one of the first countries to provide humanitarian assistance to the war-torn Marawi. The battle has been raging since May 23 and has left at least 845 dead, mostly terrorists, and ravaged much of the urban capital.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in Thailand have expressed their gratefulness to their host country for its help.
