Filipino celebrity chef Ronnie Macuja suddenly passed away early hours of Friday, as reported by The Thaiger.
Macuja, who is known for his modern Mediterranean/Asian cuisine in the island of Phuket, is a typical story of how and where hard work and dedication could take you. He started his career working in Hilton Manila and was offered two-year apprenticeship, where he made it big and won countless culinary competitions. He was also offered the Commis Chef in Hyatt Regency in Auckland and then made it eventually to Thailand, where he worked in Phuket for several bars and restaurants namely VSet Restaurant and Bar at Chalong Pier, and more recently at Café del Mar. Macuja was also featured in the Thai TV franchise of Iron Chef in 2012.
Macuja was also involved in the Six of the best at Paresa and was supporting young chefs in QSI Masterchef Kids.
