Imagine a child, somewhere from 3 to 6 years old, being separated from parents due to Covid-19 infection. Just the thought of it is distressful and probably traumatic not only for the child but also for other family members.
In a situation where parents are also infected with Covid-19 and no one is able to care for the child, this care center set up by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) would be a big help.
The care center for children who are suffering from Covid-19 and need to be temporarily separated from family is now open in the Dusit district in Bangkok.
Infected children between 3-14 years old will be taken cared of by a team of doctors, nurses, public health officials, and day-care volunteers 24/7, according to the Government House’s Thai Kufah website.
There are fun activities and toys to play with to keep the children occupied while recovering from the virus. The activities are also intended to ease the stress of being away from home.
If the child’s condition worsens, he or she will be transferred to a hospital immediately.
