COVID 19 prevention measures reactivated for preschool centers

The Social Development Office (SDO) has announced measures to combat the return of COVID19, especially for preschool development centers Bangkok-wide.

In a Bangkok Post article, Kanjana Phupipatthanaphon, SDO Director, highlighted the importance of following the DMHT measure – distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and temperature checks – to ensure the safety of children, volunteers, teachers, and parents as the new academic term begins.

“District offices responsible for overseeing preschool centers were instructed to strictly follow COVID19 prevention and control measures”, said the SDO Director. Safety measures include daily screening of children, teachers and other staff before entry to the premises, mask wearing, and using alcohol-based hand sanitisers.

If an individual showed symptoms of respiratory illness like headaches, fever, cough, runny nose and difficulty breathing or having a sore throat, parents are advised to take their kids home for treatment and recover in isolation.

ATK (Antigen Test Kit) should also be used to check the individual’s condition until they fully recover.

Regular cleaning of facilities, equipment, toys and common areas were also mandated by the SDO.

If a child is found to be ill or is infected with COVID19, they can receive treatment at a healthcare facility. In the event of a cluster of five or more cases, the school health nurse or local public health service center should be contacted to investigate and control the outbreak, according to the SDO.
