Different Filipino communities come together to celebrate Paskong Pinoy in Bangkok

At least a thousand Filipinos came to celebrate Paskong Pinoy on Sunday, December 9 at Ramkhamhaeng University Sports Office.

Her Excellency Ambassador Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon attended and relayed President Rody Duterte’s message for OFWs. Officers and leaders of major Filipino organizations such as Association of Filipinos in Thailand (AFT), Association of Cordillerans in Thailand (ACT), Yanhee Filipino Community, United Filipinos in Thailand (UFT) and Philippine Ladies Group Foundation (PLG) and Kababayan at Kapamilya sa Thailand (KKT) group also came and supported the event.

Paskong Pinoy was part of the culmination of the 7 consecutive Sundays featuring the biggest multisports competitions ever in Bangkok.The first part of the event was DeeMoney Cup Championship Games which include basketball and volleyball games. Yanhee Amigos champed basketball while Mulawin and TNRJ won the volleyball men and women, respectively.

Paskong Pinoy started right after the championship games. Thailand-based Pinoy singers led by Blessie Cainoy and Guizel Joyce Tupaz wowed the jam-packed gym as they entertained the audience with their song. Filipino dancers from St Theresa International College, St Robert’s International Academy and the Association of Cordillerans in Thailand (ACT) also performed.

Mr & Miss DeeMoney contest was the most awaited part of the Paskong Pinoy celebration. Escorts and muses participated in the contest through the tutelage of Dario Mando of Darla Mode Bangkok, one of the top online distributors of Thai beauty products in the Philippines.

A total of 16 contestants joined the Paskong Pinoy singing contests.

Raffle prizes from different groups, DeeMoney cash vouchers and merchandize were also given away. Meanwhile, pinoys got to taste different native delicacies, dishes and other products that were displayed and sold at the back of the gym. Due to unexpected huge turnout, pinoy food and products were all sold out by noontime.

The one-day event started at 8:00 am and ended at 9:45 pm. PinoyThaiyo thanked all the organizations, companies and people behind the success of DeeMoney Cup and Paskong Pinoy 2018.
