It was a day of flags, food and fun as the Evangelical Church of Bangkok (ECB), under the leadership of Head Pastor David King, successfully held its second International Food Festival at the church grounds last Sunday, December 3, 2017.
International foods were overflowing during the first and second service at the church grounds as 28 individual food providers, and also in collaboration with the members of the 21 LIFE Groups, managed to dish out approximately 5,500 servings of main dishes, snacks, finger foods and desserts native to the different countries. In an email interview with both head pastor David King and church elder SH Lim, this event was specifically designed “to celebrate Christmas as an international faith community and reach out to our friends, neighbors and other family members by sharing our food and wearing our traditional dress.” They further explained that it was also “well received by ECB visitors and guests and for the food contributors, it was a fun day.”
People were also led to Christ as there were a few who expressed interest in knowing Him by accepting Him as personal Lord and Savior.
When asked about the participation of Filipinos in the event, King and Lim were all praises for them. “Work ethic and attitude of Filipinos are very professional, passionate and joyful to work with,” they said adding that Filipinos “accomplish task[s] beyond expectations.”
