Last night a special and intimate Christmas dinner celebration was hosted by Bing Macatangay Arias and her husband Met at their luxurious apartment building in Bangkok. The gracious couple were a constant presence at international and Filipino gatherings in Thailand for many years long before social media domination. Bing was the former president of the United Filipinos in Thailand (UFT) and founder of a few more overseas Filipino organizations that supported Filipino teachers and domestic helpers in Bangkok.
Aside from the overflowing sumptuous Filipino dishes on a festive Christmas themed dining set, the celebration also served as a gathering for long-time friends who have been living in Thailand for decades. Many of them are now Thai citizens who have also made their names in business and in the community but have never forgotten the unique Filpino way of celebrating Christmas.
One of the special guests was Khun Nat Kitiyakara, a Bangkok socialite, actress and Chulalongkorn University alumna.
