“The Hibla ng Lahing Filipino” Traveling Exhibition Project, entitled Piña-Seda: Pineapple and Silk Cloth from the Tropics” will be held in Bangkok on July 5-10. Everyone is invited.
The traveling exhibit is organized by Museum Siam together with the National Museum of the Philippines, Office of Senator Loren Legarda and the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok.

This project will be inaugurated for the second time in Asia after its successful run in Europe and the United States and will continue to exhibit in Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam respectively. It highlights Piña and Seda as a traditional and unique source of Philippine fiber. It also represents the development of textiles from the Colonial Period to present, demonstrating social, culture as well as economic aspects of the Filipinos involved in Pina-Seda from the past to present.
Complementing the exhibition are related programs that will be conducted from July 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Each lecture has limited seating for 30 pax. The morning session of lectures and weaving demonstrations will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and facilitated by Ms. Raquel R. Eliserio and Mr. Carlo R. Eliserio, expert piña-seda weavers from Balete, Aklan. The afternoon session of lectures and embroidery workshops will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and facilitated by Ms. Lolita J. Pereza and Mr. Loreto D. Maestre, Jr., expert embroiderers from Lumban, Laguna.
The Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition will be held from July 5 – 27, 2019 at the Multi-purpose Building, Museum Siam 4 Sanam Chai Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200.
