The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines in Chiangmai has posted an advisory to its constituents regarding children’s registration of birth on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
According to the post, report of birth of children born out of wedlock is “complex and costly”. The parents should executed the following documents:
Affidavit to Acknowledge the Paternity (done by the father)
Affidavit to Use the Father’s Surname
Sworn Attestation; and
Certificate of Registration
Aside from the aforementioned steps and legal documents, the parents should also get the Thailand Birth Certificate translated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Report of Birth. If the child is over 6 months old, the parents will also have to process an Affidavit of Delayed Report of Birth.
