Local tourists flock at Sunflower Farm of former Thailand-based OFWs

Inspired by sunflower farms in Thailand, former OFW couple Sergz and Phangz  Zabal  planted sunflower seeds gifted by church member friends to the latter when she went back to the Philippines for good in December.

The couple planted the seeds on December 27 and after just more than a month, their 200-meter farm became an instant paradise frequented by local tourists in Occidental Mindoro. The Zabal Sunflower Farm has already been featured by ABS-CBN and visited by the Department of Tourism and other government officials who are all in awe.

Kabayan Serg and Phangz used to work as teachers in Thailand. Serg went back to the Philippines for a vacation in March but was stranded due to COVID-19 lockdown. Left alone in Thailand, his wife Phangz also decided to go home for good in December.

Tourists continue to flock the Thailand-inspired Zabal Sunflower Farm. There is an entrance fee of 10 pesos. Congratulations to the Zabal family!
