If you are planning to stay out late and party until dawn during the New Year’s celebration, transportation might be a hassle on that day. Fear no more as Bangkok’s MRT has announced that it will operate until 2am on New Year’s Eve.
Transport services will run from 6am of December 31, up until 2am on January 1, 2018. In addition, “12 station parking lots will have opening hours extended from 1am to 3am on January 1, as reported by BK Magazine.
This initiative is part of a plan to provide additional safety and convenience to MRT commuters during the New Year holidays, says Acting Governor of the MRTA Rithika Suparat.
According to Road Safety Thailand, Chiang Mai had 33 road accidents during last year’s celebration and 5 in Bangkok during the same period.
