A mother and her first born infant passed away one hour in between early Sunday morning.
OFW Annievy Claros Estrera, 38, died due to COVID-19 and other complications. She was admitted to the hospital on August 15 and tested positive for coronavirus. She was also seven-month pregnant. The following day, kabayan Annievy gave birth prematurely to her firstborn, Gianne Arkei Estrera Pingcas.
After almost seven days in the hospital, Estrera in the ICU and her baby Gianne in an incubator, both passed away at 3:00am and 4:00am on Sunday, August 22.
Annievy hailed from Cebu City and was the family’s breadwinner. She worked as a hotel management staff along with her fiance Gerald Pingcas in Bangkok for five years.
