One dead, 12 others injured in Hua Hin twin bombings

Twin explosions rocked Hua Hin  on Thursday killing one and injuring at least 12 others, mostly foreign nationals, local news website Khaosod reports.

Hua Hin Police Station chief Sitthichai Srisopacharoenrat identified the deceased victim as a Thai woman. The  bombings which went off half an hour apart before midnight has injured 12 people, nine of which are foreigners, the report added.

The injured were sent to Hua Hin Hospital, San Paulo Hospital and a local branch of Bangkok Hospital.

The bombs were hidden in plant pots spaced 50m (164 ft) apart, and detonated by mobile phones. The explosions were confirmed to have emanated from explosive devices, said BBC.

Earlier on Thursday, another bomb went off on a walking-street market in the southern province of Trang which killed one victim and wounded at least five other people at around 3:00 pm.

Hua Hin is a famous tourist destination in Thailand.
