The Thai Government Public Relations Department announced last month the construction of Pattani Adventure Park. The Park will be a new tourist attraction in the Province.

TheThai Government PR Department said in a statement that the Pattani Municipality, in the southern border Pattani Province, is building “Pattani Adventure Park” as a new tourism destination in the deep South.

Often referred to as a “skywalk,” the Pattani Adventure Park is located at the Princess Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Park in Mueang district. It offers a scenic viewing point from which tourists can appreciate the beautiful scenery of Pattani.

Construction of the skywalk is now in the first phase, with financial support of 10 million baht from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The skywalk is a large steel structure, with a length of 400 meters. Looking to the west on the skywalk, visitors will see the mouth of Pattani Bay. Below this skywalk is a mangrove forest.

Mayor of the Pattani Municipality Pitak Kokiatpitak said that a fund is being sought for the second phase of the Pattani Adventure Park. In the second phase, a high jumping tower will be constructed, along with a waterside walkway.

He said that, when completed, the Pattani Adventure Park will become the first adventure tourism destination in the three southern border provinces. In the park, visitors will see beautiful plant species and numerous marine animals in the mangrove forest.

Pattani province is rich in marine resources. Pattani Bay is 116.4 kilometers long and suitable for marine fisheries and coastal aquaculture. More than 80 percent of local residents are Muslims, and the province also boasts many interesting historical and cultural sites.
