PH Embassy, Royal Thai Embassy cooperate to evacuate their nationals from Ukraine to Poland

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw safely evacuated 19 Filipinos from Ukraine to Poland on board the Embassy van and a bus chartered by the Royal Thai Embassy which also drove Thai nationals across the border. Consul General Mardomel Celo Melicor and Assistance-To-Nationals (ATN) Officer Ariel Esparto escorted the Filipinos during the border crossing.

Philippine Ambassador to Poland Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz and Thai Ambassador Chettaphan Maksamphan were on hand to welcome their respective nationals as they arrived in Warsaw.

Ambassador Ruiz conveyed her deepest appreciation to her Thai counterpart for Thailand’s generous accommodation of Filipinos in their chartered bus, noting it as a prime example of ASEAN spirit of solidarity and cooperation.

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw arranged for the accommodation of the evacuees as they await their eventual repatriation to Manila.
