PHL Embassy Bangkok releases final guidelines for Pres Duterte’s visit

The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok has finalized the guidelines for the upcoming visit of President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 7:00pm at the Royal Thai Navy Hall.

The venue is beside Wat Arun Temple, near Chao Phraya River and can be accessed from BTS Wongwian Yai station and a 40 minute taxi ride; or from BTS Saphan Thaksin station and a 40-minute ferry ride to Wat Arun Temple station, and a 10-minute walk to the venue.

Admission is free but those who are still interested to join must send an email registration containing the name, passport number and mobile number to bkkpe.consular@gmail.com to be accommodated. Currently, the Embassy is having difficulties in sending out email confirmations to registrants, thus, those who registered through different Filipino community organizations are already confirmed, unless Embassy personnel sent them emails cancelling their admission to the event.

The following guidelines must be observed as per advice by the embassy. Minors are not allowed for security and safety reasons. Smoking and loitering around the venue is also strictly prohibited. Utmost behaviour must be observed at all times since it is in the facility of the Royal Thai Navy.

Confirmed guests must come in casual Filipiniana or office attire. Wearing of sandos, slippers and shorts and other unsuitable attire deemed by the security personnel inappropriate will be refused entry. Small bags will only be allowed. Knapsacks and large bags will be refused entry. Bringing of firearms is also strictly prohibited.

Participants must come to the venue before 6:00pm. There will be no admission after 6:00pm. Show original passport or citizen ID upon entry; a strict implementation of NO ID, NO ENTRY will be observed. Upon entry at the Royal Thai Navy Hall, seats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Take note of the time schedule:

  •         3:00 pm –  Gates open  for entry
  •         3:00-5:30 pm – Complimentary food will be distributed
  •         6:00 pm –  Closing of gates. No one is allowed to leave the venue.
  •         7:00 pm –  President’s speech
