The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with Kasikorn Bank (KBank), has introduced a new e-wallet designed for international tourists, the TAGTHAi Easy Pay.
In a National News Bureau of Thailand post, the TAGTHAi Easy Pay app will enable visitors to make “cashless transactions using Thai QR Payment, eliminating the need for currency exchange and offering a more seamless and secure payment experience”. This app and service was launched during the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 campaign.
The TAGTHAi Easy Pay works with KBank’s Prepaid PAY&TOUR Card. It basically works like a debit card minus all the paperwork needed by long term expats using their legal documents.
The same report says that in 2024, the TAGTHAi mobile app surpassed 2 million downloads and experienced a 183% increase in sales. This new payment method will benefit local businesses by encouraging cashless transactions and increasing financial accessibility.
Travellers can access the service by downloading the TAGTHAi application and registering for the Prepaid PAY&TOUR card. The service claims to have no service fees when topping up.
The platform is “expected to greatly enhance the overall travel experience while ensuring seamless financial transactions across Thailand.”
