Thai national nabbed at NAIA with P28 million shabu

Bureau of Customs agents intercepted a female Thai national at the NAIA Terminal 3 yesterday morning carrying 4.125 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P28 million, reported Manila Bulletin.

NAIA Customs collector Carmelita Talusan identified the suspect as Pakjira Janwong who arrived via AirAsia flight Z2-288 at around 3 a.m. in Manila.

Janwong’s travel record showed she visited Laos, Myanmar, and Malaysia before flying to Manila.

She was stopped by a Customs examiner at the arrival area who asked her to open her luggage after an x-ray scan showed images of suspected illegal drugs.

The white crystalline substances concealed inside her luggage tested positive for shabu.

Janwong and the drugs later were turned over to the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency.
