Thailand national highways to have four lanes by 2022

All national highways in Thailand will be four-lane roads, two lanes in each direction within three years, said Mr Sarawut Songsiwilai, the Director-General of the Highways Department on Tuesday.

Speaking on Thai-language Daily News, the Highways Department chief explained that eighty percent of the expansion project (about 4,239 km) is now completed, with 1,000 more kilometers to be paved.

Sarawut also stressed that the “1586” hotline number is available to receive complaints from motorists about poor road conditions and other related issues.
