Thailand reports 120 new COVID-19 cases, total of 1,772

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) confirmed on Wednesday 120 new coronavirus patients and two new fatalities. Total is at 1771 patients.

The government said that there were two additional fatalities bringing the death toll to 12.

Of the 1771 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 342 patients have recovered and been discharged.

Bangkok and Nonthaburi still have the highest concentration of cases with 850 and 122, respectively. 43 new cases were discovered in Bangkok in the last 24 hours.

Due to the rising numbers, the governor of Nonthaburi ordered a mandatory curfew starting on Tuesday between 11 pm to 5 am. The curfew will continue until the end of April.

“While we’re seeing lower increases in Bangkok and the surrounding areas, those areas are still dangerous areas so people must practice caution and self-isolation,” said government spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin.
