Thailand to reopen for international tourists

Here’s the official press release on Thailand’s reopening for international tourists, posted on the Thai Government Public Relations Department.

Thailand to Reopen for International Tourists

The Cabinet has approved a proposal by the Center for Economic Situation Administration on guidelines for Thailand to reopen for international tourists in order to revive the country’s economy affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under this proposal, the Government will ease quarantine measures for travelers entering Thailand from abroad in four stages.

In the first stage, starting from 1 April 2021, international tourists traveling to Phuket, Krabi, Phang-nga, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai will be quarantined for seven days, instead of 14 days, in a seal area or a hotel, but they must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with vaccine certificates.

In the second stage, starting from 1 July 2021 onwards, international visitors to Phuket who have received two doses of the vaccine will not be required to stay in quarantine, while other destinations will still require a seven-day quarantine.

In the third stage, beginning from 1 October 2021 onwards, quarantine requirements will be lifted for international visitors to the pilot destinations of Phuket, Phang-nga, Krabi, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai, if they have been vaccinated with vaccine certificates.

In the fourth stage, beginning from 1 January 2022 onwards, international tourists entering all areas in Thailand will not be quarantined, if they have vaccine certificates.
