The Siam Society under the Royal Patronage will hold the Siam Society Ceramic Workshop on June 2, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Listen to collectors (Dr. Pariwat Thammapreechakorn, Khun Pimpraphai Bisalputra, Dr. Thanyakarn Wong-on, and Dr.Dawn Rooney) will talk about Southeast Asian and Chinese ceramics (whole pieces and shards). A workshop will follow giving you an opportunity to handle the shards, talk with collectors, and engage in lively discussions on the subject.
The morning session will cover Southeast Asian wares – Khmer, Thai (Sawankholok/ Si Satchanalai and Sukhothai), Northern Thai (Kalong, Sankamphaeng and Phan), and Burmese. After a lunch break (on your own), the afternoon session will explore Chinese trade wares found in Thailand (blue and white, enamelled, and Bencharong).
Bring your friends, visitors, and anyone you know who may be interested in the subject. At the end of the day, leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of Asian ceramics found in Thailand.
Admission: THB 500 (includes two coffee breaks but not lunch)
Reservation: Please contact Khun Nichakorn at nichakorn@siam-society.org or tel. 02-661-6470-3 ext. 305
