Update: Four explosions in Bangkok; one near BTS Chong Nonsi entrance
Three bomb explosions were reported at Chong Nonsi, Rama 9 57/1 and Chang Wattana on Friday morning.
A street sweeper was said to have been injured in Rama 9 Road explosion and was rushed to Sirindhorn Hospital, Coconut Bangkok reported.
According to reports on social media, the first explosion happened at BTS Chong Nonsi during rush hour. Traffic news site JS100 reported a second detonation that took place at a grassy area on Rama 9 Road, near Soi 57/1 in Bangkok’s Suan Luang district. And just before 10:00 am, a bomb reportedly exploded at the Government Complex in Chaeng Wattana, the report added.
The explosions occurred as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was delivering an address in the capital at an annual ASEAN summit.
Yesterday, an EOD team destroyed what was said to be a fake bomb outside the headquarters of the Royal Thai Police.
