25 Walk-in vaccination centers in Bangkok to roll out by end of May

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Board of Trade aim to open up 25 vaccination stations by the end of May. The goal is to speed up the inoculation of the people in Thailand prioritizing areas with high infected rates such as Bangkok.

Herd immunity through vaccination is one of the major goals of the Thai government to speed up the recovery against Covid-19.

The walk-in vaccination centers will run for seven months and are expected to cater to 38,000-50,000 people per day. PM Prayut Chan-o-cha hopes that this plan will encourage people to voluntarily participate and get the jab done as quickly as possible without comprising the efficiency of the vaccine.

These additional and alternative vaccination stations will be set up where most people usually go, the malls and shopping centres. Central Plaza Ladprao has started its station and was able to cater to about 1,000 people on its day one of operation last May 13.
