A 3-year old girl was caught in an accident in a mall in Davao City yesterday, December 21, as her hair was caught in one of the escalators.
The young girl obtained scratches on her hands when she tried to untangle her hair being caught in the escalator system.
According to the mall’s preliminary investigation, it was believed that the young victim was playing around the escalator, and her parents were not looking at their child when the incident happened. The child was said to be walking up on an escalator which is moving downwards.
The mall’s security was quick to press the emergency stop button when he heard the child screaming.
The child was then brought to the nearest hospital. She did not attain any fracture, or serious injury.
