The Adventist Youth Association (AYA) has elected a new set of officers for the year 2016 at Bangkok International Church of Seventh-day Adventists (BIC) on December 13, 2015. Ms Chona Ronquillo of Trinity Adventist International Church was elected as new AYA President.
AYA is one of the biggest youth organizations in the country composed of Adventist young people from 18 international and English-speaking churches of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination all over Thailand. The association aims to design varied spiritual, social and multicultural programs that promote camaraderie and goodwill that will lead the youth closer to God.
Ms. Ronquillo or ‘Chona’ as many fondly call her will be replacing Mr. Jezreel Llanera who served as president for two years from 2014 to 2015. Pastor Arnold Galvo who is the English-speaking churches’ coordinator also serves as the AYA adviser. Meanwhile, Llanera will continue to serve the association as its Public Relations Officer (PIO) on social media.
