In a letter dated June 3 to Nang Mwe San, Myanmar Medical Council revokes Nang Mwe San’s licence to practice medicine in the country citing ”
“her dressing style which is against Myanmar culture and tradition.”
The 29-year-old former doctor updates her Facebook regularly with a photos of herself posing in swimsuits, lingerie, as well as form fitting Myanmar traditional costumes.
On January 14, she was already warned by the Myanmar Medical Council to stop posting risque photos online. Four month’s later the Council moved to revoke her licence.
Last week, she questioned this decision, posting the letter on her wall captioned, “What is human rights? Where is democracy?”
“Society doesn’t own women’s body. My body, my right,” she added.
