Sadness, anger, dismay and disappointments filled the hearts of many in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines after an MLM company abruptly ceased its operation without any notice to the public or its clients. Top company officials are nowhere to find.
One Dream Global Marketing Incorporated, an alleged multi-level networking company started in Lipa City, is operated by a certain Arnel Gaser. He, together with his wife Jovel Gaser, disappeared and are now the subject of pursuit and investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to Lipa City Mayor Meynard Sabili, who visited the company’s office after receiving complaints from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and NBI, the city and the company investors lost almost three billion pesos due to the unlikely disappearance of the couple.
One Dream GMI should be dealing with retailing of cosmetics and detergent products as stated in their company profile, but complainants stated that the marketing method is similar to many MLMs where a certain amount of money is asked and is promised to be returned with big interest in just four days. Financial transactions with no official receipts were allegedly used.
One Dream GMI also operates in Balayan, Batangas; Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Quezon City; Bolinao, Pangasinan; and other places as indicated on papers found in the company’s office.
It is also reported that the children of the couple are in the care of the relatives but are not able to go to school due to death threats to the family.
Lipa City local government asked the public to collaborate with the police as soon as they are able to locate the whereabouts of the couple.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has never stopped informing the public to be vigilant and refrain from joining similar company that promises big investment returns.
