Suvarnabhumi airport security returns lost gold

Female security personnel Patchara Phiraphan is earning online praise and recognition after honestly and hastily returning lost passenger baggage with gold necklaces at Suvarnabhumi Airport, on April 18.

In a The Thaiger report, CCTV footage from Gate 8 on the 4th floor of the departure terminal shows the honesty and dedication of the female staff, when she spotted a small bag lying on the floor. Upon inspection, the bag contained a 2-salung gold necklace.

Ms. Phiraphan immediately reported the incident to the airport operations center, where they immediately launched a digital search of its owner. It turned out the bag belonged to an Indian passenger who had just stepped off a shuttle bus and accidentally dropped it before making their way to the terminal.

The bag was immediately returned to the passenger just minutes before boarding.

Suvarnabhumi Airport Director Kittipong Kittikhajorn said that the airport will formally honour Patchara, Itthiphon Chankla of the 4th Security Division and another unnamed officer from the Royal Thai Army Police with plaques and certificates of recognition.
