Well-known Filipino comedian Chokoleit aged 46 passed away yesterday night after a performance in Abra. The comedian was rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital where he died of pulmonary edema and cardiac arrest.

A video posted on Facebook by the Abra Provincial Government a few hours before the news broke out, Chokoleit was performing at the Kawayan Festival 2019. 

Carl Guevarra of The Juans who also performed on the same festival wrote on his Facebook:

“‪Unbelievable. Chokoleit performed right after our set and we witnessed how he struggled through the entire performance. The ambulance rushed him to the hospital in Vigan but now we were informed he didn’t make it and passed away. We are all in shock. Prayers to all his loved ones. As reported by ABS-CBN News, comedian Chokoleit has passed away after having trouble breathing during an out of town show in Abra. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chokoleit's friends and family. May he rest in peace.
