The Commission on Election (COMELEC) has extended the period of filing of Application for Reactivation until December 9, 2015, said the Philippine Embassy in Thailand.
In an announcement posted on the Embassy’s Facebook page, Vice Consul and Alternate Resident Election Registration Board (RERB) Chairman Mr. Jim G. Minglana also explained ways to reactivate the voter’s registration. These are the following:
Personally apply for reactivation at the Embassy in Bangkok, or
Send a copy of the duly accomplished from OVF No. 1G and a copy of the passport by email, fax or by regular mail.
According to the COMELEC website the “Application is for any registered voter whose registration record has been deactivated based on grounds provided under Section 27 of Republic Act No. 8189.”
It added that a common reason for the deactivation of a registration record is the failure of a registered voter to vote in two (2) preceding consecutive regular elections.
