The House of Congress Committee on Health has approved a proposal to give free dialysis to poor Filipinos, says in a UNTV report.
The said proposed law mandates each government hospital nationwide to set up dialysis facilities. The bill also seeks to expand the PhilHealth coverage benefit package to also include kidney transplant.
Additional to the said proposal, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be in charge of identifying the beneficiaries of this free medical service.
The bill is scheduled for plenary debate and voting before passing it into its third and final reading.
