The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday placed Thailand under the Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase) after the bombing incident on August 17 which killed at least 20 and injured more than 100 people.
“Alert Level 1 is issued when there are valid signs of internal disturbance, instability, and external threat to the host country”, the DFA said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
It also advised Filipinos to take necessary precautions and to avoid the following areas, as specified by the Thai police:
a. Ratchaprasong intersection
b. Patumwan intersection
c. Silom road
d. Khao San road
e. Narathiwat intersection
f. Victory monument
g. Tuk Chai intersection
h. Benjasiri Park
i. Soi Thong Lor
j. Sukhumvit Road

DFA RAISES CRISIS ALERT LEVEL 1 IN THAILAND
19 August 2015 – The Department of Foreign Affairs has placed Thailand under the Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase) in view of the bomb blast incident near the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok on 17 August 2015. Filipinos are particularly advised to avoid the following areas, as specified by the Thai police:
a. Rajaprasong intersection;
b. Patumwan intersection;
c. Silom road;
d. Khao San road;
e. Narathiwat intersection;
f. Victory monument;
g. Tuk Chai intersection;
h. Benjasiri Park;
i. Soi Thong Lor; and
