Jobelle Majhen of Banaue, Ifugao joined 14 other awardees from 8 ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines.
The medal was awarded by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Deputy Governor Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya to runners who participated in “ASEAN Together Run 2019”, a virtual run initiated by TAT.
Majhen, 27, was chosen after being the first Filipino who registered at the event and finished a 200km run. She has been working in Chantaburi as a teacher and has been in Thailand for seven years.
Other winners received a medal, free two-way air ticket, three days and two nights stay at The Continental Bangkok, TAT souvenirs and free Bangkok Midnight Marathon registration.
