Filipino Chefs Win Big at International Food Tilt in Hong Kong

Three Filipino chefs bagged top awards at the recent Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2015 (Hofex edition) held in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

Miguel Antonio Lorino, Michael Cheng and Kerwin Mark Funtanilla brought home gold, silver and bronze in the individual live cooking category. They are students at the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) in Manila.

Other chefs who joined in the cooking competition were from Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan and Thailand.

These are their awards:

Miguel Antonio Lorino – gold (with distinction) in Golden Bauhinia Cup; silver, in the Professional Western Cuisine Grouper category (silver is the highest prize for this category)

Michael Cheng – silver for the Modern Chinese Cuisine Hot Cooking Pork Loin group (silver is also the highest prize for this category)

Kerwin Mark Funtanilla – bronze in the Professional Western Cuisine Beef Short Ribs class
