The new MRT Purple Line will open to the public for a two-month free trial period starting May 1, 2016, said BK Magazine in a news report April 25, 2016.
It quoted Mr. Peerayudh Singpatanakul, Governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, who announced that passengers will be able to use the services from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm daily. It will officially open later this year on Mother’s Day, August 12, charging fares between B16-42, the report added.
The MRT Purple Line is a rapid transit line of the Bangkok MRT under construction for the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region and Nonthaburi Province.
All rides on the route between Khlong Bang Phai and Tao Poon will be free.
