Donations have flooded the account of Mr. Roman Navarro, an Overseas Filipino Worker based in Pattaya, Thailand. He first solicited the help of Filipino community to help raise fund for his operation.
In a Facebook post of his wife Thanaporn Sukjarean, an update showing a total amount of 110,298.89 baht has been deposited to Navarro’s account as of September 1, 2016. The amount will help fund Navarro’s operation who can no longer walk due to avascular necrosis.
The Facebook post says:
“A good blessings on the first day of the month of September. We have received a lot of donations from families, special friends of Ommie and my friends here in thailand. Right now, we want to update the money in Ommie’s bank acct. We now have 110,298.89 baht. We are going halfway to one of his hip surgery. Thank you all for the support. You have given him big hope to walk again, you have made him stronger and happy every day. Please do keep on sending your support to him so that we will have the surgery ASAP. Thank you and God bless you all.”
Different Filipino groups have come together to help Navarro. A similar event was also held in Ratchaburi in August to help the family of another OFW who passed away because of colon cancer.
