President Rody Duterte has departed for Thailand on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016 to pay respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He is expected to arrive in the afternoon.
Prior to his departure, the president delivered a speech and answered some questions from the media for about 30 minutes at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2. Duterte was seen getting on the plane at 10:00 am (Bangkok time).
Considering the travel time, the president is expected to arrive at the kingdom in the afternoon. He is said to meet members of the royal family and sign the book of condolences. Typical time for paying respects at royal urn is 1:45 pm.
The President will be flying to Malaysia later today to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Meet and greet with the Filipino Community in Thailand is scheduled on his next visit to the Kingdom.
