The Thai Immigration Bureau on Sunday issued an advisory saying that all foreigners with transit or tourist visas or visa on arrival (VoA), whose stay in Thailand was extended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, must leave Thailand by September 26.
Foreign visitors still stranded in the kingdom by the Covid-19 pandemic will be allowed to apply for an extended short stay after their visas expire on July 31, the Immigration Bureau chief said on Friday.
Details of the new visa-free program will be officially announced within this year.
Statistics show that about 290,000 visitors came from the Philippines last year, up from 172,000 the previous year.
Selected Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines are in consideration to easily enter mainland Korea under special conditions.
