Thai actor raises 100 million for flood victims in 48 hours

Thais are known to be generous and helpful people.

A well-known volunteer rescue worker and actor Bin Bunluerit has successfully raised more than 100 million baht in less than two days to help flood victims in Ubon Ratchathani province. As of 5:00 p.m. Monday, Bin has raised a total of 107 million baht.

Bin, chairman of the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, went live at 3pm on Saturday on his Facebook page from the northeastern province. He showed the troubled faces of residents there and gave his personal bank account number for people who would  want to help, said Bangkok Post.

He himself said he chipped in 1 million baht to the cause.
