The island paradise of Boracay was not spared by Typhoon Urduja as it wreaked havoc, causing floods and landslides, reported Tuesday.
Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores told GMA News that roads leading to and from Boracay Island have now been cleared after it was blocked by debris brought by landslides, during the peak of Urduja. He also said that stranded locals and foreigners have also left the island.
Aside from the island of Boracay, towns in the western side of the province, including Ibajay, Nabas and other parts of Malay and Buruanga were hit by floods and landslides. A total of 7 landslides were reported, all along major roads in Malay and Navas, but all have been cleared, says Miraflores.
Weather conditions have also improved in Aklan, specifically in Boracay.
Urduja has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility yesterday.
