Young Filipina teacher fights for her life due to aneurysm, needs help

A 24-year old Filipina teacher has been fighting for her life since April due to a ruptured aneurysm. Kabayan Vaniecheele Grumo has already undergone five operations since then (2 major & 3 minor) and she needs to undergo another expensive surgery to treat the aneurysm that did not break.

Teaching English and living alone in Sisaket Province, Teacher Vaniecheele is lucky enough to have amazing friends who helped her through the most difficult times in a foreign country. Many of her Thailand-based friends, Filipinos, Brazilians and other nationalities had set up fundraising campaigns to help pay her hospital bills while she was in the  hospital from April 28 to June 23.

A Facebook page, Go Fund Me and vahinka accounts were set up by her Brazilian friends to raise funds. Filipino colleagues also raised funds through Facebook. A total of 212,794.46 THB was already paid to the hospital.

Teacher Vaniecheele, who is from Del Pilar, Cagdianao, Dinagat Island is now resting at her apartment in Sisaket with a 24-hour caregiver, since all her friends are also working OFWs. As much as her family wants her back to the Philippines, she cannot travel by air yet while she is recuperating from her previous brain surgeries.

One more surgery is needed to treat the aneurysm that did not break, and with hopes of complete healing for this young Filipina. Our kababayan needs our help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated by her family and friends.
