Ateneo’s civic program for OFWs in Bangkok is set on March 17

Professor Amurao is the fourth Filipino to receive the prestigious award. She is the Chair of Humanities and Language Division at Mahidol University International College which is one of the top universities in Thailand and in Asia.
Students who completed the program will receive a certificate from Ateneo at the end of the program. They will also be mentored by seasoned and successful Filipino entrepreneurs and business professionals.
More than 200 Filipino teachers work under the Chula project teaching English, Math and Science. Also attended the celebration were 52 Chinese teachers and more than 100 Thai coordinators.

The grand launching was attended by educators, government and business leaders from five ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

According to Briones, the Thai Education Minister had approached her and complemented Filipino teachers in Thailand as “magaling, mahusay mag-handle ng bata at may sariling technique…”
“The meeting with Secretary Briones would be an opportunity to discuss common concerns of Filipino teachers,” said the Philippine Embassy in a press release.
